First Relay Team has been Filled
We appear to have our relay team completed along with a couple of alternates, this is truly a national affair as we touch both the East and West Coasts!!
We welcome Kelley S. and Joe C - sober swimmers from the San Diego area who Jeff met at the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation (CCSF) banquet last November.
2023 Catalina Channel Relay 4 Social Responsibility
the iSwim4 Catalina Channel Relay for Social Responsibility will take place September 26-27, 2023, on the Pacific Star. This swim will feature at least one team of 6 swimmers in Recovery
Spring Ahead into Safe Open Water Swimming
As iSwim4 prepares for spring activities, we achieved recertification training in Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid/CPR/AED. This allows us to confidently provide a safe swimming environment for our community administering the gold standard in lifesaving aquatic science. Safe, sober swimming community.
Sober Swimming Community
For those in recovery from addiction or affected by this disorder, swimming can be a powerful tool for healing and connection. That is where a sober swimming community comes in, providing a supportive environment for people in recovery to swim, socialize, and stay sober.

Even in the early stages of planning for my solo swim across the Catalina Channel, I always wanted to include a relay of “sober swimmers” to really publicize the visceral meaning of “Demonstrating What’s Possible in Recovery.”
And so the die was cast. Whether or not this exact team ends up completing the event, it has been the catalyst which serves to move our campaign forward.
